Same flowering kale different day...a totally different way of describing what I see...every color change creates form and so it is simple, in a way, to paint what I am looking at and have it become a recognizable thing....with the black watercolor paint I am limited to line and value...light dark ...very simple in a different way...I like them both, I love the kale...Any thoughts ?? oil on canvas 20x30" watercolor on paper 22x30"
I always love your colors so much I can't really go to the dark side. Myself, I admire b/w photographs more, but like my color pix better. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteI understand this dilemma...I am also drawn to b/w photos...and yet I am a sucker for a beautiful color any day...
ReplyDeleteThey are both beautiful, and completely different.
ReplyDeleteTo me, color photography is usually just another pretty face, compared to the artistry of black and white.
But not so with a painting.
I would be hard pressed not to chose the first painting over the second.
But... why not chose both? After all, it is more than one coat in our closets we are owning, yes?
