The View From My Sofa

It just so happens that I was very sick with a cold for a week at which time I lay on the sofa and watched the sky change colors outside my windows....I am very happy doing this...for a while ..but then I need to get up and paint what it is that I have been looking at...it also helped that I read a book about the artist Nell Blaine which did influence these studies! Sunset and Cyclamen 36x36" oil on canvas Winter Dusk 30x40" oil on canvas
Landscapes, portraits, farm animals, drawings, watercolors, oils, still lifes, the Berkshires, Block Island, St Croix and Manhattan. Expressionistic, Impressionistic color studies.

Damn good thing your got sick is all I can say. Or the world would not have these two beautiful paintings.

and you my dear are wonderful to think so...
Like them both and especially the one looking out the door of the porch and how you either saw or transposed the clouds and dynamic tension with the sky. Like the canvas size too.
