So this is what I saw when I looked in the mirror this past February 15 2018...I look a little ragged I think...Glasses on for the first time so I can actually SEE what I am doing...there is a new landscape of the Alford Valley behind me on the wall....Winter day, I am bundled up....took my wool hat off since I had painted it too many times...16x20" oil on canvas
Love the pose, but you still look mad. Sigh. XXXXX Your greatest fan.

ReplyDeleteActually what I have to do is another SELF PORTRAIT...as long as there is life there are paintings to paint ! thank you all for your positive comments! Yippie....
ReplyDeleteoh Kate, I love this so much! Just decided to look you up on facebook and sent you a friend invite. Poked around and found your blog! Good to "see" you again! Angela Ranzoni, blast from your past ;)
ReplyDeleteOne self portrait.... just one! In which you do not look pissed. Please.
ReplyDeleteYou know Father only did a couple of self portraits, and in them he either looked like a very angry turtle or he blurred his features so you could hardly make them out.
I must remind myself he was your first teacher. Did he say "Now, Katie... when you portray yourself, be sure to let your public know you're a SERIOUS artist.!"
Hey.. I'll paint a portrait of you. XXX Your best friend and biggest fan.... B
