The French Chair , Hat, Geraniums and Tangerines

A winter day in the studio , all is well . The chair was brought back from France by my friend's cousin. I bought it because I knew I wanted to paint it. The horse carved in the back of the chair was what got me. Well actually the whole chair got me. Then the tangerines up against the blue striped cloth...just add sun hat and geraniums and I was totally gone, in love...There is something so simple about the "Still Life"... Perhaps it is just because it is so "still" ? 30x30" oil on canvas

I love the tangerines too. And the story and painting of the horse and chair. And the play of all the colors and shapes makes good visual music, heart and soul music!
