Music in the Studio

 Mike, my husband, likes to come to the studio and pick up the guitar to serenade me...It's always a pleasure. Here is the instrument sitting on my mother.s velvet loveseat with an old Amish quilt found in Pennsylvania years ago.I added the Primrose as flowers always thrill me! 24x30" oil on canvas Don't ask me where the past two months went and I did not post...seem to be using INSTAGRAM more these days for keeping up with recent work...check it out kateknappartist

The Andrew's House Porch Block Island

 A lovely autumn day and the shadows are cast revealing so much beauty ....This was the first house I stayed in on Block Island....60 years ago...where did the time go? I love the contrast of the solid simple porch and the distant landscape with so much going on... what a great afternoon this was! 30x30 oil on canvas now exhibited at Jessie Edwards Gallery  on the island!

Self Portrait on My Birthday

 Well it seems the winter has disappeared and I have neglected my Blog! I do think of it all the time but have gotten into the habit of using instagram and so put my focus there...Not quite as satisfying as being able to write here how I really feel about the painting...This portrait was done with a landscape of my garden behind me, cheering me up in the dark winter of more Covid...I turned 70 this February....can you tell? I am happy to be alive considering what we have all been through! more shall be revealed... 20x24" oil on canvas
