I was grateful when Cate was willing to pose at the studio one morning...We were so lucky to have her visiting all the way from Minnesota via Georgia ....She was an excellent model...I was really amazed as I painted her beautiful face...perfect lips,eyes.etc...etc.... a pleasure to paint...I did not do her beauty justice....would like to paint another and another....oil on canvas 20x24"
Landscapes, portraits, farm animals, drawings, watercolors, oils, still lifes, the Berkshires, Block Island, St Croix and Manhattan. Expressionistic, Impressionistic color studies.

This is a very interesting portrait.
If you cover the left side of her face, and see only the right, it looks exactly like her as she usually looks. Pensive, non-committal, and young.
Cover the right side, and the left side reflects an older and darker Cate, snd the inner anger that often takes over.
